Once in a while, we get asked why, if the idea behind HMBoys.com is to present pics and videos that are "home made" by the boys themselves, we use professional photographers too.

Well, in the first place, we get a lot of interest from boys in countries where there isn't much money about.  So how can we expect them to buy a stills camera, let alone a video camera?

Secondly, of course, our professional photographers and videographers noty only produce better quality stuff, but they are also on the ground and speak the native language which makes finding new boys - and persuading them to sign up to us - far easier.

But today's HMBoy Matius is something of an exception.

He does own a decent camera and, even better, he has a friend of his own age who has a video camera and knows how to use it too.

So on that basis, we were more than happy to authorise him to go ahead and supply us with some material.

The lesson learned on this occasion, though, is that it's not just enough to ensure that the boys have the right technical gear.  You have to make sure that they have an eye for a good picture too.

Matius's friend certainly held the camera steady - and the camera itself focused the shots very well.

But maybe it would have been nice to have just a little more variety instead of that darned sofa appearing in every single shot!

As it is, we think that all of you will forgive the omnipresent soft furnishings just for the chance of checking out some delightful shots of this handsome new discovery.

We've rapidly become very fond indeed of cute young Matius, and we're sure that you will think that way too!
